Hey everyone. It’s been quite a while since I’ve wrote to you in person and updated you with how things are going with my writing. Well, I guess because progress has been really slow over the past few months. Between work, rare usage of internet and sharing most of my posts from my mobile I’ve struggled to get anything really in order or complete to a good enough standard.
However…
I find myself in the second phase of judging poems in the 2013 Poetic Republic Poetry Prize. The judging continues for 7 weeks over May and June, and finger’s crossed my poem will win. There are also a heap loads more competitions that I’m awaiting results from, again finger’s crossed. I’ve moved focus from poetry to writing short stories, as I prefer to write stories yet I am more naturally gifted and find writing poetry a lot easier. Catch 22. My organisation is all over the place at the moment with about 4 different short stories in development. I would like to share these with you, however I will be entering them into competitions first and if I have no luck with that then they will be available to buy for Kindle through Amazon.
Secondly…
I’ve sent a few of my better pieces, that were specifically written in lyrical form, to some agents in hope that I can feed my writing into the music industry. A whole new area for me, but something that interests me a lot and something that I think I would do well in.
Thirdly…
My book “The War on Gluttony” hasn’t made much progress since leaving Perth. Idea’s are still in full flow and I will get back on track with it when the time is right for me to completely concentrate on it.
Fourthly…
August and September are going to be exciting months.
Finally…
Enjoy my latest piece of writing, have a great evening or day wherever you are in the world. I’m going to watch The Lord of the Rings and finish my classical music session. Talk soon.
Nothing is broken
All of the things are delicate
True beauty
Unearthed environments
Reinventing architecture
Exploring forgotten land
In my place
Somewhere in the world
May I find what it is?
You will thank me when I have
Comprehending disaster
On a devastating scale
Nobody can hide
Collapsing buildings
Everything is starting to break
Rescue teams are deployed
Nonetheless my world is broken
